US intervention

The United States has intervened in Libya.

Of course the difference between this and Iraq is that the US has permission from the UN and the Arab League. Now just hope they don't over stay by 8 years or something and it will be all good.

Interesting thing about this and George Bush is that if he had stayed long enough to get into one more war he could have gotten a Nobel Peace Prize as well!

video unrelated (?)

  1. It's sad that we have to get back into this thing. I wish we weren't, but it is probably best for the rebels and our own interests. But it seems more like an unwarranted entry into a civil war. Well, I guess they did get their warrant from the UN, but it still doesn't look like a good idea.

  2. Nice they asked us first then?! Fucking stupid, leave them to destroy their own country, they've all been doing it with or without us anyways..

  4. They never leave. Just like they're still in Korea and Germany. I mean, those wars ended a WHILE ago.

  5. Although I'm never in favor of war, I find it very unfair to compare the Libyan conflict in even the same light as the Iraq war. If you wanted to compare the Libyan conflict to something, NATOs intervention in Kosovo would have been a lot better.

  8. I'm a little ticked that Obama didn't pass this through Congress :/

  9. Obama has already stated that he wishes to keep the US' involvement to a 'bare minimum', whatever that means.

Obama even went as far as to claim that rushing into Middle Eastern countries without UN backing is the only reason everybody dislikes America. On the same day of this press conference those pictures of the soliders in Afghanistan were released and he didn't even mention anything about Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Vietnam etc etc.

I think the reason other countries don't like America is because you never admit you were wrong.

  15. As long as the US isn't ever invaded, I won't involve myself in politics :D Although... the fact that the economy is in an insane recession spells disaster on the horizon...

NOT THAT I KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ANYTHING!!!

  16. I don't understand why America could not have just given it's support to action with a vote. Then let France & co. deal with it. Aren't we a little busy...and broke? Also, this action was not approved by congress.
