iPad 2

This should be interesting. iPad 2 is faster, thinner, lighter; same battery, display resolution.

It has a camera for facetime and photobooth but no retina display. Also the metal edge around the iPad is ever so slightly more thin.

Also the new case looks interesting.

I picked up my friend's iPad and the first thing I noticed was that it was really heavy. I was thinking, how are you supposed to hold and use this? But I think the lightness will make it better for everyone.

So anyone going to by iPad 2? (including the ones who haven't bought the first iPad)

  1. Nope! Because the next one will be coming. This is likely an in-between model which is going to have almost nothing new except the camera.

  2. nope, I don't buy Apple products

  3. I don't get the tablet thing, when I have a laptop and a smartphone already, and a tablet seems to be the worst of both.

  4. Beginning to consider buying one now..

  5. I want one!!! if someone reading this want to give one I will be glad to accept it... LOL

  6. I'm not going to buy one but I'm definately going to invest in Apple!

  7. I think the android based tablets are a better buy.

  8. "Apple says its processor is twice as fast, yet it offers the same 10-hour battery life as today's iPad. "
wonder how they did that with the same battery?

  9. Can't afford the first, can't afford the second :(

And the functionality really doesn't wow me either.

  10. I dont like iPad or iPad2. I prefer Galaxy tab with android.

  11. It does look very interesting, hmm but as for buying it.. I'd wait for reviews first. Even then I'm not sure, it has quite a hefty price tag for a student such as myself -_- Following, looking forward to see you posting more ;D

  12. I couldn't care less about apple's products

    ReplyDelete
  13. ipad2 sounds cool but i don't think i'll buy it :p

    ReplyDelete
  14. Definitely not. First of all, it's really expensive! Second, it won't let me play around with the interior of the OS or other things that Apple doesn't approve of. I'd rather just get a nice netbook for that price.

  15. i don't even have an ipad, and now theres an ipad 2?

  16. dont know what i should think of the ipad!?
tablet pcs in general. wouldnt make a computer suit more sense?

  17. iPad2, a few more things than the iPad, but only 50% of the features they have ready, they'll release another 10% for the iPad3 next year.

    Apple is evil.

  18. It would be pretty nice but i cant afford it :p

    ReplyDelete
  19. I don't know if I'll buy it, Apple update their products too quickly, so iPad 2 will be obsolete in 6 months time anyway

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think it's a fantastic update to the iPad line, apart from having no more RAM and a rubbish screen..

  21. In no case I'll buy Apple products :)

  22. I don't know.. the "old" iPad already seems light to me and the battery time is amazing. Been using one for 12 hours and there's still 10% left.

  23. I would love to have one, but they are too expensive for me.

    ReplyDelete
  24. hmm not so sure about this one maybe ipad3...

  25. Does the camera include video? Does it have Java yet? If not, there's still a lot of better choices out there.

  26. Man, I still believe that apple is literally ripping off people with shouldn't-be-so-expensive technology. Personally I'll wait for this tablet war to expand and I'll decide later in the future

  27. My dad has an Ipad, and I think they should have focused on extending the battery life and making the display better. Just my opinion though!

    ReplyDelete
  28. If it has Flash support I may buy it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Damn you Apple, I knoe you're ripping me off, but why do i keep coming back to you.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I dunno, I felt like the heft of the iPad was well deserved. It made it feel substantial. The only thing that bugs me about the new one is that they made the display the same resolution. I mean, the iPhone almost has the same resolution. It's not really pixel dense, they could have at least bumped it up to 720p compatible, you know?

  31. iPad2 seems like the most pointless purchase ever, I loved Apple 'til I heard they were yet again dragging a failure on.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I still don't really see the use of the ipad. Everyone I know, (girlfriend included)just uses it like a toy. If she has to do anything serious, she uses her macbook. Ipad is basically just used for Bejeweled, which is how I figured it would be used when I first heard about it.

  33. I hate my iPad. I might get one for the camera though. facetime is great.

    ReplyDelete
  34. i want one but their so expensive

    ReplyDelete
  35. Maybe it's finally time to get one... along with some other wonderful innovations of the 21st century.

    ReplyDelete
  36. it looks fantastic! I can't wait to get an iPad2. They are a bit expensive, but definitely worth it.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I looked into the first iPad and didnt buy it due to it's weight, hopefully the i{ad2 will be worth it for me.

    ReplyDelete
  38. It's still not something I'd buy. I'd rather have a netbook with a tangible keyboard before I got an iPad. Also, I own an iPhone so it seems kind of redundant for me. Until they have features that the iPhone doesn't (don't say CPU/RAM, they will probably be included in the new iPhone in June/July) I won't be buying one.

    ReplyDelete
  39. It's still a laptop without a usb port or keyboard so no. :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. It sounds pretty awesome. Meh, I just fear because of the camera, at shows and concerts you'll see people holding up their iPads, blocking the view of everything.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I can't see myself getting an iPad. I had an iPhone. I have a droid. I have a laptop. I have a Kindle. The hell will I do with an iPad?

    ReplyDelete
  42. i wouldnt mind longer battery life. :/

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thanks :D Ive heard a lot about the Ipad 2! And i think i might get one

    ReplyDelete
  44. I wish it had a higher res screen.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Apple always seem to take a few versions of hardware to get it right...might buy one...but then you can't really blog on them

    ReplyDelete
  46. i dont have ipad 1 so i won't have ipad2 because i think this is useless crap =/

    ReplyDelete
  47. I just wish the iPad was more open for developers, otherwise I'd be interested.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I would prefer the had developed the display and battery life!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'll just wait for the Chinese clone.

    ReplyDelete
  50. i dont like the ipad 2, its just the same hardware that they sold last year but with an extra camera and it will sell for a bit more than the original ipad.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think they could have upped the resolution. Also the camera i read is only 2 megapixel? I want 5! but i am greedy

    ReplyDelete
  52. Nah, I'm not going to buy the iPad 2. I think I'm just going to wait til the summer for the new iPhone. It's just going to be another 4x smaller version of the iPad anyways.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I've gone this far without an Ipad. I'm cheap, it would probably take a major price drop for me to get one.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Not really a big improvement

    ReplyDelete
  55. With the release of ipad2, the prices of ipad1 are falling. I'm going to pick one of these up cheap.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I have an iPhone and a Cr-48, I don't need any tablet.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'll sit this one out until I come into some serious cash, which might take a while....

    ReplyDelete
  58. I looked it up, and it seems pretty sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  59. The ipad is a piece of garbage, maybe this will be better

    ReplyDelete
  60. This is yet another (although the MAIN) reason I do not buy apple products. They keep coming out with something better, which is fine...but the older stuff becomes obsolete. If it wasn't so ridiculously expensive, it wouldn't be THAT big of a deal, but they charge insane prices all for looks. I can understand a version 2 and MAYBE a version 3... I like companies who make their products better. But much past that is too hard on the consumer.

I follow and support those who do likewise.

  61. I never used iPad my friend, but i will check nr2. maybe :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. I didn't buy the first one...

    ReplyDelete
  63. Nope, since my laptop does everything the iPad does and more.

    ReplyDelete
  64. soon there will be an iPhone v.3, iPad v2.2, iPod extended, iWatch, whatever. don't like these iStuff :/

    ReplyDelete
  65. I see it as a waste of money.. an enlarged itouch -.-

    ReplyDelete
  66. Why do Apple have to release new hardware every single year?

    ReplyDelete
  67. A lot of controversy about the new iPad 2. Personally, I think business wise they have a great idea. But consumer-oriented wise, there is a lot missing from an upgrade that came in only short amount of time. Great post, thank you for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I want an ipad!!! Followed!
    alphabetalife.blogspot.com

    ReplyDelete
  69. It's the same price!

I was extremely surprised when I heard this, is shows two things:

It shows that the first iPad was overpriced, and it shows that Apple is scared of the competition.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I can't imagine an original iPad owner would also buy the iPad 2. Such expenditures...

Apple need to keep pushing themselves every year, though. I think a lot of people were hoping for an iPhone4-style design on this one. Hope it delivers on other fronts.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Meh, I don't think I'll get it. Its a great nice gadget, but thats it, not worth the price imo.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I've given up on modern gadgets. The second you buy one they bring out a better version of it.

Great - now I can sell my OTHER leg to medical research to afford this new version! Oh heck, signing this medical agreement would be easier if I had arms.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I jumped off the apple bandwagon a long time ago. anytime they release something, something new comes out the next year...

    ReplyDelete
  74. I'm not buying one of those until the next Ipad 3 comes out... then we will see

    ReplyDelete
  75. If i wanted to pay for over priced upgrade id go buy me a new itouch rather then a ipad cause there just retarded
