"I for one welcome our new computer overloads"
Is anyone else scared the computers will take over / have been taking over.
I mean the Google is probably the closest thing yet. It can predict our preferences in entertainment and even our health!
And now machines can speak our language (Watson).
just the technological advances of this age worry me
ReplyDeletelol Google has already taken over!
ReplyDeletehmm, this will still take long
ReplyDeleteThey are the next step in evolution.
ReplyDeleteYep I too support the computers.
ReplyDeletei think its overlord*.
ReplyDeletenot really worried about the robots/computers though. already have emps lol.
I cant wait for the age of computer world domination to come.
ReplyDeleteThey can also talk to each other now, http://www.roboearth.org/ THERE IS NO WHERE TO HIDE.
ReplyDeleteIn which case it's not computers that have taken over, it's the users of the computers, IE those who run google, facebook, microsoft etc...it's just gonna get worse - much worse.
ReplyDeleteWe have already taken over, you cant stop us!
ReplyDeleteThe end is near 2012!!! haha
ReplyDeletecongats on the 100! interesting stuff, following ;)
ReplyDeleteIf an artificial intelligence did emerge from all the inter-networked computers around the globe...how would we know. It's bound to keep a low profile after studying most of our films on the subject.
ReplyDeletecongratz on the 100!
its scary stuff!
ReplyDeletethe google knows all. like it, following.
ReplyDeleteI saw a special on TV where Amazon does the same thing. Computers adapting to our preferences.
ReplyDeleteWhat scares me too is the movie Gattaca becoming a reality. Saw something about DNA engineering, totally freaked me out when I saw it.
The next question is how long till people accept them. We can't avoid it, it's gonna happen
ReplyDeleteit will happen eventually
ReplyDeleteBig G will soon be controlling our phones, cars and houses. Hope they come in peace
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is that the day after, the back of the Wall Street Journal had an ad from IBM that read "Humans win!" with a short description of the benefits we will reap through computers like Watson. Additionally, they also mentioned that our current computers are still nowhere near real intelligence.
ReplyDeleteGreat post by the way, I'm following!
can't stop this machine
ReplyDeleteif computers do get so sophisticated that they dominate the world i can assure you that it wont be in our life time :)
ReplyDeleteMeh, I'm not scared. Computers are deterministic, and even AI is based on human knowledge. Also, 'learning' of AI is based on this knowledge.
ReplyDeleteYep these AI are going to take over. Hell, an AI was president of the USA in Fallout 3!
ReplyDeleteI'm not too scared; the end of the world is in 2012 and computer won't be too strong then.
ReplyDeleteIn only due time will AI be able to survive on their own!

I'm not too scared, at least if they steal our jobs we will stay at home everyday, i'm ok with this
ReplyDeleteGoogle reminds me of VIKI from irobot, but not HAL from 2001 a space odyssey...
ReplyDeleteI wish i lived in the 70's n 80's.. fuck all this computer shit. I like doing stuff.
